Cooking With Orvil // Meatloaf & Peach Cobbler

May 20, 2020

It’s cooking with Orvil tonight and he is making an amazing meatloaf & peach cobbler. Watch the entire video below on YouTube and don’t forget to subscribe. We will also add the recipes below so you can save them or pin on Pinterest!

Meatloaf

1 lb ground beef

1 cup cracker crumbs

1 tsp salt

1/4 tsp pepper

1 cup milk

1 beaten egg

1 onion diced

1 cup ketchup

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees

2. Mix all ingredients together (except ketchup) in a large bowl

3. Transfer to cooking dish you prefer (loaf pan, cake pan, casserole dish or whatever works for you). Pour ketchup over the top and spread evenly

4. Bake for 1 hour at 375 degrees or until juices flow clear.

Another easy recipe we loved growing up. When you have 5 kids to feed my parents didn’t have a lot of time to waste getting food on the table. So minimal steps and easy ingredients were always optimal for getting the job done. Plus they taught us how to cook so everyone could help out. Enjoy!

Quick Cobbler

1 cup sugar

1 cup flour

1 cup milk

1 stick unsalted butter

2 tsp baking powder

1/8 tsp salt

1 15oz can fruit (sliced peaches, cherries, etc)

1. Preheat over to 375 degrees

2. Melt 1 of stick butter in a cake pan

3. Mixed sugar, flour, milk, baking powder and salt into a batter.

4. Pour batter over stick of melted butter in cake pan (DO NOT STIR). Pour can of sweetened fruit and juice over batter, again no stir

5. Bake in oven for 40 min at 375 degrees.

This was one of my favorite and most versatile dessert recipes growing up. We would make it at home using all different kinds of fruits. We would also make it camping in coal fired Dutch ovens. It always came out great and was so easy to make with very few ingredients.

Please let us know if you plan on making it or if you have ideas for our next cooking with Orvil episode. Thank you for all the love xx

Best, Sarah

Great looking easy recipes. I wish you would have sliced the meatloaf and scooped the cobbler so viewers like me could see the inside finished product. I enjoy watching you on Tuesdays.
BTW, today happens to be Tuesday.
    Thanks!
