Here Comes Santa Tour // Grandin Road // Our Vintage Farmhouse
Here Comes Santa Tour
Christmas is our absolute favorite time of the year! We love everything about it! Harper and I love to pull out the decorations early and start decorating the rooms one tree at a time. We listen to our favorite Christmas songs and bake cookies and then curl up by the fire! It’s the season of giving and sharing it with the ones you love most.
I am so excited to be doing the tour with five amazing bloggers and partnering with Grandin Road! These beautiful candles are battery operated and come with a remote too! I got this gorgeous cascading garland from Grandin Road too! The barn wood christmas trees were purchased a couple years back at a store in Franklin. I got the sign at Between You and Me Signs. The ornaments I got at Hobby Lobby and painted them with chalk paint!
We love cozying up by the tree and this chair is perfect for reading our favorite Christmas stories! It’s the Augusto Chair & ottoman and the gorgeous faux fur throw is from Grandin Road as well! That throw is ridiculously comfy. We use it so much.
Harper helped me decorate the tree. Her favorite part is going back and rearranging everything. She cannot wait for Santa to come! She said she wants some trolls and a soft teddy bear. I can’t wait to see her face on Christmas day! She is going to be so excited.
We got this gorgeous bench, tray and faux sheepskin fur rug from Grandin Road too! I found the burlap tree skirt on Etsy a couple years back and love the vintage feel it gives off. This is one of my favorite flocked trees a friend gifted me two years ago and I can’t wait to set it up every year!
Here are all the bloggers for the tour:
I am honored to be part of such a fantastic group of bloggers!
We love baking, especially around Christmas time! These sugar cookies are our family recipe past down and they are so amazing! I know you and your family will love them.
Santa’s Sugar Cookies
Today we are sharing our favorite homemade sugar cookie recipe that is perfect for Santa. We have passed down this recipe for as long as my family can remember. These sugar cookies are crisp and tasty, guaranteed to melt in your mouth.
Ingredients
Yields eight dozen cookies (about 2 1/2-inches in size)
- 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 5 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup milk
Directions
In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until well combined. Add eggs and vanilla. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Stir into butter and sugar mixture, along with milk. Cover and refrigerate for 15-30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. On a floured surface, roll out dough to 1/8-in. thickness. Cut out cookies into desired shapes and place 2 inches apart on a greased baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
Decorate with icing and sprinkles. You could even add a chocolate kiss in the middle while they’re still warm.
I can’t wait to show you the rest of the house on our other Christmas tours we are doing. Have an amazing day and thank you for visiting our farmhouse! Merry Christmas and enjoy the rest of the tour!!
XOXO,
Sarah

These white Christmas trees take the prize. I want to do one right now, but must wait for a tree. The all white seems a bit of a departure from how we decorate now, but in actuality it is so natural. And for those of us who rarely have "white Christmas’s", it is an added measure to this wonderful celebration. Thank you so much for taking your time to give us such delight! xoxo
