Hi friends! With a new season approaching, I always think it’s fun to refresh your spaces to make them feel new. When it comes to the living room, I know we spend SO much time in that space, so it’s easy to get bored with our decor and want to switch it up. I know I’m always seeing new home items I want to incorporate into my living room! However, we can’t always switch everything up – it’s a lot of money AND sometimes you don’t want to change it necessarily, you just want to give it a fresh feel.
I definitely feel this, especially when a new season rolls around, so I put together 4 easy ways to freshen up your living room. These are super simple things you can do to give your space a little refresh without breaking the bank (and without having to give too much effort).
4 Easy Ways to Freshen Up Your Living Room
Rearrange the furniture
This costs zero dollars and can be so fun! When I have a little help, I love to move things around in my living room. It might be a little hard finding the right layout at first, but once you do, it feels like you have a whole new space! I’ve played with this before and a lot of the time I actually really end up liking the new layout better. If you have the time (and a little help if your furniture is heavy) try rearranging your furniture.
Add flowers
So simple but so effective. When I buy a bouquet of flowers, put them in a cute vase, and add them to my living room, the room instantly brightens up. I also feel like different types of flowers bring in an entirely different vibe. It’s so fun to switch up the types of flowers to make your space have a whole new feel. Plus, adding flowers just makes me happy! You’ll be surprised how much of a difference this makes if you’re doing it consistently.
Switch out the throw pillows
Similar to adding flowers, changing the throw pillows on your couch can completely switch up the living room. You can play with different colors, textures, and pillow sizes to accomplish a fresh, new feel. Even adding one new throw pillow makes a difference!
Update your coffee table decor
Coffee table decor is one of those things I feel like doesn’t change much and is something your eye gets used to, but it’s such a focal point in the living room. I’m not saying you have to completely redo your coffee table decor, but moving things around, adding new colors, maybe a new candle holder and tray, will make a huge difference. The best part about changing your coffee table decor is that you can find decor that’s super inexpensive. I love finding cute vases, clocks, and more at Target (they have some great stuff)!
There are so many ways to freshen up your living room, but these are the 4 things I always try when I want to switch things up. Super simple, easy, inexpensive, and effective! What are your favorite ways to give your spaces a new feel? Let me know in the comments! Xo
